CELEBRITY JUSTICE

CC

*****1/1/08**** CRIMESIDE-REVIEW THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME DO THIS CRITIQUE FOR YOU. THE SONG (CRIMESIDE) IS GOOD AND AUTOMATICALLY MAKES ME THINK OF THE OLD MOBB DEEP. THE MC'S ON THE TRACK HAVE A NICE RHYME PATTERN AND THEY SOUND GRIMY ENOUGH TO GO ALONG WITH THE PRODUCTION AND GIVE THE TRACK THAT LITTLE BIT OF SINISTER FEEL. DEFINITELY A NICE SOUND TO HEAR COMING FROM A SOUTHERN ARTIST. THE MARKETABILITY MIGHT BE A LITTLE HARD ON THE 'COMMERCIAL"TIP (COMPARED TO WHAT WE HAVE ON THE RADIO TODAY), BUT, BASED ON THE GRITTY FEEL OF THE TRACK, I CAN EASILY SEE COLLEGE RADIO GIVING IT SOME SPINS AND DEFINTIELY MAKING SOME NOISE IN THE "UNDERGROUND." A REAL STRONG SONG ALL ACROSS THE BOARD. OVERALL RATINGS MUSIC 8/10 LYRICS 8/10 MARKETABILITY 7/10 ARRANGEMENT 7/10 PRODUCTION 8/10 ENGINEERING 8/10 Melody-Good Music in Verses Structure-Well written structure;good sectional contrast 'TRACK USES THE VERSE/CHORUS FORMAT. IT WORKS FOR THIS SONG NICELY. LYRIC: ENGAGING, GOOD USE OF IMAGERY, RHYMES WELL, VOCAL DOES HELP TO SELL SONG "TRACK IS WRITTEN FINE. THE VERSES HAVE FINE RHYME SCHEMES AND MC'S DO A GOOD JOB WITH THEIR DELIVERY.

Kevlar's single Cash was listed as No. 9 of 11 on Half Pint's Hot Spot Radio playlist . This list included Ludacris, Jadakiss, Nas, G.Dep, GhostFace and others, proving that Holla'back artists were on the same level as commercial artists...we were just waiting for our turn...until we got jacked!

Trajik's Q&A, which was released on the "Holla'back presents Trajik & the Black Casba" EP, was one of four Rap/Hip Hop 'FEATURED TRACKS" which also included Goodie Mobs' Get Rich to this.
